How do I go about Donating Personalized Christmas Gifts to children att he

Homeless Shelter? I want to donate a toy to each child living at the local homeless shelter. I dont want to just drop off a bag of random toys. Id like to know the 1st name and age of each child there and buy a personal gift for each one. Do I just call the shelter and explain and ask for this? Would this sound odd?
