How do i get to the cell phone in the third level of the game Calling for Wii?

I'm on the third level of Calling called "The Wandering"(for the Wii). When i reach down to grab the cell phone, a hand from under the table comes out and grabs the phone. I can still here it ringing but I can't get to it. I don't see how i can get it when everything is blocked. how do i get the phone from under the table?
