How do I get this school's attention without being a pest?

I applied for a teaching job at a charter school that would be PERFECT for me. Great location, great philosophy, small class sizes, etc. I applied about a week and a half ago and they sent me a form letter saying that they'd received my application and would be contacting me within a week. They also said that if I had any questions, to please call or email.

The next day, I sent them a reply thanking them for letting me know of their timeline and expressing that I am looking forward to speaking with them. I also asked two questions about the position.

It has been over a week since this has all transpired and I have not received a reply to my email, nor have I been contacted for an "initial conversation."

Should I call them? Should I lay low? Should I send them a letter of recommendation from my current employer? I am totally psyched about this job and I'm not sure whether they are giving me the cold shoulder or whether they are just busy and slow to respond to emails.

What should I do?
