How do I get the most out of my workout at the gym?

Because of my day to day schedule, I only have around 1 hour to go to the gym. I go each morning, right after I get up, and then I go home, eat breakfast (normally I have a mini bagel, cottage cheese and an apple.)

I am an 105 pound, 5'1, 20 year old woman. I don't want to be a body builder, but 2 years ago I lost 50 pounds. I am happy with how I am, but I'd like to build from lean muscle.

Right now I do 40 minutes on the ellipcitcal, 10 on the treadmill (running) and 10 using weight machines.
