I'm having trouble getting my speakers to work with vista, i've tried my front jack and the back main speaker jack. The speakers were working fine until I unplugged them and my PC, to put my PC on a new desk. I also have a usb headset which i have gotten to work now, but i really want the sound on my speakers, and just the mic on my headset, could anyone help me out on this?

Control Panel>Sound

(im on XP now, got vista at home)

In there you would see like your sound and then you click on the speakers, then set as default. Then for the microphone; you click on the headset and then you select the headset as the default for the microphone (think they ask you to test it also to make sure the mic works).

After that restart your applications and the sound would come thru the speakers and you use your mic as audio for gaming or whatever purposes
