How do i get rid of viruses on my iMac?

Mac rarely ever get viruses. I only seen about 4 viruses appear on the mac in the past 2 years. Mostly did little damage or opened security ports, but never caused any serious damage or problems. Trojan might be a different story.

What is the name of the pop up that it says, it is most lily to be a scareware trojan. If I got the name I might be able to find a solution.
 
i had my iMac for about half a year now and some pop up thing said my computer was infested wit visus for the first time...how do i get rid of it?
