How do I get rid of this annoying chat window?

Whenever I try to open other tabs, a window pops up with the message: "You have been disconnected from chat because you have signed into Yahoo Messenger from another computer or device." I haven't ever used chat nor is it enabled for my account. How do I get my computer to stop doing this?
