How do I get rid of the "new voicemail" notification on my Motorola Backflip?

I got a new voicemail message earlier today.
But it wouldn't connect because I had changed the voicemail #.
It said it wasn't a valid voicemail, so I changed it back to the old one.
And the old voicemailbox # says there's no new messages.

But the notification won't go away.
I turned it on/off, my phone. How do I take off the notification?
 
Ok I ran into this same problem what u do is dial ur voicemail and select option #2 by just simply pressing the 2 key to leave a message. Record ur message and when it says enter number of recipient put in ur own number. Now it'll say u have one new voicemail cuz u just sent urself a message. Then just press 7 to delete the message how u would normally and the notification should go away.:D Hope this helps. It
