Someone please give some advice on how to move on. I had a childhood friend of mine (whom I trusted) set my husband and I up with a loan 6 years ago. We were young and dumb. Cut to 6 years later we go to refinance and find out we have LOST $40,000. It is just gone. The killer part is is that we are partially to blame because we didn't research this thoroughly enough, but isn't that why we go to others? Because they know more than we do? I am so upset with myself I don't know how to move on. This was our future.
How do I get over a huge financial loss knowing that we were taken?
