How do I get my wireless drivers back?

I haven't had internet connection for a long time. I have a Gateway laptop and Verizon for a family service. I'm going through a lot to get the drivers back. Geek Squad couldn't help me, Verizon couldn't help, nor could Gateway help me. Could you help me by actually listing the steps on how to recover my drivers? My main objective is to have internet service so I can finally install Windows 7. (Having internet service is a requirement for installing Windows 7)

Puch the s/n or model for wireless in website of wireless device manufacture and follow the page. read instruction properly. Then where tell download for wireless device link. Click download on it and save on hard drive that way do not need find drivers again and again. If you internet doesnot work then write down the information of your wireless card, like serial number, model and version and so on then go friend the download it on disk like cd rom burn it and install on system at house.
