How do i get my usb flash drive to take more files? it's no where near full.?

my PNY attache drive, will only take about 140 pictures before i get a warning which is 0x80070052 the directory or file can not be created i went to properties and the thing isn't even a fourth of the way full so i don't get it, i read something about having to format it or something can't figure out how. Can someone tell me in plain english not computer talk cause that just hurts my head lol
