How do I get my trackball light to flash blue when new messages are waiting for me on...

...my new Sidekick LX 2009? I got the new Sidekick LX 2009 and I noticed that the track ball light doesn't blink blue or green continuously like it did on my old Sidekick. I can't find the setting to change that. It would blink blue when I had unchecked messages and blink green any other time.
