How do I get my Sony Ericsson W810i to play mp3 ringtunes? I am on the Rogers network.?

Supposedly the customer care representative at Sony Ericsson said I need to have my phone unlocked, but Rogers said I dont need to do that. They said that I have to convert my mp3's to the JAR file format. What am I really supposed to do?
