My son is 5 years old and he is giving us a lot of problems in school this year. He has always had an issue with eating crayons and erasers and just chewing on things that are not made for chewing on but this year he is extremely defiant with it. His teacher is very concerned while i feel as though he just wants attention and gets exactly what he wants from it when he does it because they make a huge deal of it. He doesn't do this at home nor does he do it anywhere else but when he is around other kids coloring or drawing. He also has an issue with staying in his seat and complying with directions from the teacher although he does his school work and is not at all behind in academics he is disturbing the class and is a problem student. The teacher insisted he be evaluated for ADHD and he was and the doctor thinks he may also have anxiety which intensifies with the use of stimulant medication. He takes 10 mg of focalin xr and seems to still have trouble controlling him self???? Help
