...cat the wrong way? Everytime my sisters cat scratches on her things, my sister will hit her. Not very hard, but its still hard enough to make her scared of anyone who comes near her for a while. I try to tell my sister that punishing them isn't way you train animals and that you have to gently stop them doing the thing that they are doing wrong, and then praise and reward them everytime they do the right thing, like remembering that they aren't supposed to do that thing. I know, because I have read many books and articles on the internet about training animals, mainly cats and rats. She won't listen to me, and says its 'the way she trains her cat'. I try to tell her that she won't get anywhere with punishing her cat, and the only thing she'll get out of it is a scared cat and possibly even aggesive. How do I make her listen to me and start to train her cat the right way?
