How do I get my ringtones on my LG Neon to work on text messages?

I have a LG GT365 Neon. On my old Motorola phone, each persons individual ring tones would ring when they sent me a Text message, but with the Neon, I have the ring tones assigned to each person, but all I can do is have one ring tone for the entire text messaging system. Does anyone know if I can fix this or do I have to buy a new phone? Thank you
