I just adopted a new puppy. She is very smart and has learned several commands (including no) over these few days. I've already broken her of a few undesirable behaviors (jumping up, whining, biting) but she insists on licking. I usually will say no! When she starts doing it, and then will praise her for stopping, but then she gets excited by the praise and continues to lick. When that didn't seem to work, I would just turn my back and ignore her when she started licking, but then she looked like I was mad at her and would pout - she wouldn't come when I called her. She would look like she was being punished. Any ideas on how to break this?
