I have a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix that i bought from my father's company in 2002. The car had never had problem, EVER - just regular oil changes and check ups, the car has 147,000 miles on it. Has a few problems with the windows but thats it, oh any the ignition switch from wear and tear over the years - no big deal stuff. It was in perfect running condition when i parked it a my parent's house outside. I did not have the money at the time to register it, so it sat.... and sat and at...in the rain, in the sun, for 4 years... I now have the time to fix it up but DO NOT know where to start. Obviously, the car will not turn over and needs a new batter and the tires, which were brand new, have most likely rotted and i will need new ones. What parts do i need to pay attention to first before i go getting the battery? i know i need to lube the engine, this a fuel injection car... where in gods name do i start? anybody worked on a pontiac like mine? Thank you so much for ANY help i can get!

Tune up is a priority. You may also want to drain the fuel and put in fresh gas.Fuel injection cleaner is also a must..After that bleed the brakes to freshen up the brake system.Be sure to check for leaky wheel cylinders.Check out the tires for cracks and wear.I,ve personally pulled many cars and trucks out of the fields and brought them back to life. It,s great that you havn,t lost intrest in the 11 year old car!!!

you need to clean out the carb or efi sensor whichever it has and make sure your battery is charged and your terminals are clean and change the oil and fuel filter. if that doesnt work it could be some kinda sensor and you will have to bring it to a mechanic and get diagnostic work done .
