How do I get my ex-vodafone mobile to access the 3 internet?

I have a 3 sim card (post paid). I bought an ex-vodafone mobile and unlocked it, put my sim in it. It all works fine, but i cannot use the internet on it (my three etc). I assume this is because the phone was originally a vodafone and it has all the vodafone setting in it... how do i get it to go on the internet????
