How do I get my chihuahua to pee, hiking his leg?

When my "Roscoe" goes to potty he pees all over his belly and front legs.When he was a puppy he used to squat and now he just lets it go everywhere! He is 9 months old and weighs 10lbs.

my dog didnt hike his leg until he was about a yr.

it can be a behavior that is taught, if you know people with male dogs suggest a walk together often.

he might never lift his leg. my boy is almost 7 and still squats.

I have three male chihuahuas they're all fixed. My mom didn't want them lifting there legs in the house so we got the oldest one Harley(2yrs5mos)fixed at 4 months. The othe Lola Star and Bruiser(2yrs on may 21st) were fixed at around 5 months. The vet said if we fixed them rite away they wouldn't lift there legs. Harley has never ever lifted his leg anywhere. He squats to pee. Bruiser and Star lift there legs and squat. Soo... Idk if getting them fixed has anything to do with it.
