I’m having a problem using my BT Home Hub when connecting up to my work VPN. The VPN client uses a basic PPTP connection. This does connect okay and I’m able to access remote network drives and the intranet…. What I can’t access is the exchange server to get my email.
The only workaround I’ve found is to move my laptop into the DMZ. When I do so it connects to my email straight away (suggesting an issue with the Home Hub’s firewall). There are two problems with doing this…. I have other computers connected to the Home Hub and moving my laptop into the DMZ stops any other connection from working. Secondly, I’m obviously concerned about the security of my network.
Does anyone know the correct firewall settings for this router… and how to input them as I can’t see a port list or ip table anywhere in the firmware and don’t believe telnet is possible.
Thanks!
