How do I get more memory in my Motorola phone?

I have a Motorola ve240. Every time I try to send a message it either says memory full.. or just turns off completely. I bought a SD memory card for it, thinking that would solve the problem, but it didn't I deleted all my messages, notes etc... but still no memory.
 
maybe you should go to a celphone shop and make them figure it out for you because maybe it has a problem on the hard drive or something like that..
