How do i get into a chat room on Yahoo messenger?

I'm logged in & i go to Yahoo Chat then Join a Room.... The rooms load & i click on the one i want to go into & it says "This Request Was Refused" & about a minute later another pop-up comes up & says "Signing into Chat took longer than expected. Please try again later".
What do i do to get into a chat room?
