How do I get black shield off to change 2000 Pontiac Grand Am Se Headlight?

I need to change the bulb in my grand Am's front left and right headlights. There is a black plastic shield that covers both of them and there is little circle screw clamp things that need to get taken out but they are like stuck. Im not sure if im doing this right? Please let me know thanks
you have to take the shield off to get to the bulb
