How do I get better at studying?

Hey im 16 years old, and im studying to be a pilot. I take flying lessons, and just recently flew solo. My problem isnt the flying, i'm a natural born pilot, but studying the textbook. Anybody have any advice on how to get the most out of the textbook so I can be ready for upcoming tests over the summer I need for my license when i turn 17?
