How do i get back in the swing of things?

I used to be in EXCELLENT shape until October of 2010. It is now February and i have gained 5 pounds since then and have not worked out. I used to run 2 miles a day and hit the gym 3 times a week. What's the easiest way to get back in the swing of things and keep it EXCITING rather than boring. PS. It's FREEZING here in NY metro area, but i'm still going to go run in the AM.
