How do I format a memory card on a Boost Mobile 1856?

I have a Boost Mobile phone (Motorola i856), which can store a memory card for music, photos, & pictures? The memory card is a Kingston Micro SDHC 4GB. When I put my card in, the phone screen says "Unformatted Card. Please Format Card." I'm not sure how on the phone when the phone doesn't read my Memory Card at all. Can someone please help?
