I've had computer trouble for about 6 months now and I'm finally beyond fed up with it. My computer's processor goes to 100% constantly, my Ethernet port is completely unresponsive (it acknowledges that it's connected, but won't give me an Internet connection) and I can't install windows on my computer without running into to serious problems instantly. Since these seem to be hardware problems and not software problems, I wanted to know if anyone knows how I can flash my BIOS or what other course of action I should take (besides getting a new computer entirely)?
All of the problems I've had with my comp are reoccuring, and I have them every time I change and reinstall my OS. I've tried windows xp, vista, the beta for 7, and ubuntu linux 8.10. So far, the only thing that lets me update anything or add software is ubuntu, and everything in windows is error after error about 5 minutes after it's installed.
