well im just wondering i heard on the news about people putting motors on their bicycles and i like to know what other parts i need what type of motor i gotta have and what type of tools do i need to use.

Why don't you google it? There will probably be a lot of info including details on the parts and tools needed, the size the bike has to be and the amount of money it is going to cost you. Though if you are planing to spend all that time putting time and effort into inserting a motor into a bike, you might as well go buy an actual motorbike

I believe you can find bolt on kits to add gas or electric motors to a bike. Many of them work by using a friction wheel on your rear tire, so expect some additional wear on the tire.

Before you spend too much money on this, consider the local laws in your area, and if it's technically illegal to operate the bike on public streets once its modified.

You can buy a used 49cc scooter for around $600 that will run so long on a tank of gas you'll forget where the tank is.
