How do I find out what year my Suzuki GSXR engine is?

All I have is the engine and the numbers on it. They are N714-109923
I need to know what year it is and I cant seem to find out. Please help me my local dealership is retarded!!

N714 means it is probably a 1998 engine.

Is the engine in the bike? If the number doesn't match the title of the frame then its obviously within 1 or 2 years before they redesigned the bike. That is unless the frame has been modified to hold a different engine. But that rarely ever happens.
