I have a smith and wesson 40 model 4046. They have a long and hard trigger pull. How do I find out what it is?
Is it whatever the recoil spring is? Because it says it has a factory 17lbs recoil spring on this website:

If I replace it with a 12,14, or 16lbs recoil spring will that help?
