How do I find out what size engine is in our 1969 Pontiac Catalina Ventura, it

is a four door with a hard top.? My fiance purchased a 1969 Pontiac Catalina Ventura. It is a full sized car, four door vehicle. We have no idea what size engine is in this baby. I have tried lloking online but it is a little confusing. If I look under the hood is there a simple and asy way to tell the size/type of engine is in there?
