How do I find my flash drive.?

I have a SanDisk card with pictures from my camera on it. Well I put that into a USB card reader and now I can't find it any where on my computer. It even made that sound when I put it in. Then when I took it out it made another sound. So my computer recognizes it but then it's nowhere to be found. I've tried 'devices', 'control panel', and 'computer'. I thought right when you plugged something into a computer there would be a menu that comes up and asked you what you wanted to do with the pictures. Thank you for any ideas.!! Love you all.!! <3
