How do I ensure all of my data is saved to my microSD card? Tmobile G2?

I need to do a reset on my phone and will lose any photos/music/data that is not stored on my SD card. I'm not sure how to tell what is and isn't stored on my SD card....

first remove your mem.card and now connect your phone to a laptop or a PC now and backup data this is simplest one
use software (PC-suite) that came along with your mobile

remove the card then reset the device.then back up any data via your pc with the software that should of came with the phone
