How do I easily remove the bar on a 1969 pontiac parisienne?

I am putting a new top on a '69 pontiac parisienne. I am havinbg trouble removing the the rear bar that attathes the convertible top? I would really appreciate any answers or ideas for this, im having a real hard time!
Live in too small of a town, there are no auto shops or anything around that could help. i would like a strait answer, not some website that has nothing to do with convertible tops. Thanks!
 
Here's a body service manual for a 66...may have some tips. Check with some local auto trim shops too that replace convertible tops or try to pick up a body service manual for your car on Ebay.
