How do I draw on my guitar ?

I've just read that putting "stickers" on your acoustic guitar , can seriously dampen the sound.

So What materials can I use to actually draw onto my guitar. SAFELY.

P.S. I don't live in the US, or any of the "big countires" and I just read on SHARPIE's website that they don't ship things outside the US.
