How do I download music from my computer to my verizon wireless phone?

I have a Verizon Wireless enV2 i tried the usb plug but its not working and i tried the SD card and its not working either. im using Windows Media Player to sync the music but it tells me to connect the device when its already connected. Is there something im doing wrong? Please Help! thanks for the answers!
 
you know that walmart sells this sm music chips where you can take you memory card out and put in the thing for slot music and while you chip is in you plug the usb in the computer and start downloading but you have to be carefull because thay could get lost easily
