I just got a 22" LG 1080p HDTV, and an HDMI cable for my PS3 slim. I want to display the XMB, blu-rays and DVDs, and game demos in 1080p, while I want my games to display in 720p (the native resolution or best looking resolution for most PS3 games). The problem is, is that some of my games support 1080p resolution, and so when I go from the XMB to the game itself, the resolution stays at 1080p while I want it at 720p. Because of this issue I have TWO QUESTIONS. First, how do I keep the PS3 (the XMB, blu-rays and dvds, and game demos) at 1080p, while being able to launch all games at 720p automatically? Secondly, if the answer to the first question is "it's not possible", should I just set the display settings to 720p (basically, is there a noticeable difference in resolution between 720p and 1080p on a 22" screen?)?
