how do i disable the tv out function on my computer?!?

i know clicking on the blank area of the screen goin to properties and cliking advanced settings is supposed to tell me the information on whether or not my "tv out" function is there are not but it doesn't. it doesn't even tell me the type of card i have how do i fix this problem?!
