How do I delete HTC Desire calendar entries without deleting them from iPhone too?

I initially had an iPhone, and the calendar was full with 'things to remember'.
I manually proceeded to enter them into my new HTC Desire handset - deleting them from the iPhone as I went.
I noticed though (after deleting an awful lot) that not only were they deleting from the iPhone but the HTC Desire also!!!!!
Is there any way that I can delete info from the iPhones calendar, without it automatically doing the same for the HTC?
