Ulead has (at least they used to have) some decent software for this. There was an external box to do 64 bit realtime encoding into your computer and the software included Video Studio (latest version) and DVD movie factory (latest version).
The cost was somewhere around $100.00 to $200.00. Not sure if they still make it.

recorder? Is it easy?
1. Do I need any particular software? 2. Adapters to plug VCR into my (new) PC? 3. Do I have to use a particular kind of DVD ( + or - ) in order to play the DVDs on a regular DVD player? And finally, would the picture and sound be better or worse if I bought a 2 in one instead of using my computer?
Thanks!
