I am trying to make an HDR photo with one photo. I've heard there are two options.
1. Take the RAW and adjust the exposures to +1, 0, -1 or whatever you want/need. Then open (in my case) photomatix and begin the tone mapping with the photos.
2. I've heard with photomatix you only need one photo if you use a 16 bit TIFF because the histogram contains all the information needed in one file. If possible, I'd like to try this method for time saving reasons. Can someone explain how to change a RAW to a 16 bit TIFF. If this works, it would save me a lot of time in the future, assuming it's easy to make the change and still provides good results.
