How do I connect to the Veritaserum chat room?

I can't seem to connect to the Veritaserum chat room, even though I've used it before. Every time I log in, I get the message "Unable to connect: java.net.UnknownHostExecption: irc.veritaserum.com" My Java is up to date and I accepted the security warning. How can I connect?
 
It's possible your firewall is blocking the connection. If you use windows firewall, make sure you have an exception noted for Java or IE (or Firefox, Chrome, etc.). Otherwise, I would consider using a different browser to see if that solves the problem.
