How do i connect my samsung remote to dish network?

for christmas we got a tv, the Samsung 50inch plasma. and it comes with a remote and i dont know how to connect the remote with the Satellite, so its able to change channels on dish network. i looked in the Manuel and i cant find it in there so if you know what its on PLEASE tell me, OR PLEASE tell me how to connect the remote to the Satellite.
