How do I connect my laptop computer to my verizon fios wireless router/mode?

I recently purchased a compaq presario 700 and I have no idea how to connect it to wireless! I should be able to use my verizon router/modem to connect and I am not sure how to do it. They said my computer has wireless built in to it so How do I connect it?
