Hi, I have an old Yamaha PF 85 keyboard that works just fine. I am trying to hook up my old Roland MT-32 to it. I either cannot remember all of the steps or one of the cables must be bad because I'm getting a ton of very loud static (almost like feedback). Am I doing something wrong in the procedure? My notes say to do this:
1. MIDI cable goes into MIDI IN on the MT-32 and MIDI OUT on the Yamaha PF 85 keyboard.
2. Wire between MT-32's mono and PF85's Line Input
3. Turn on MT-32, then the Yamaha keyboard
4. Set Yamaha to Piano 2, chorus
5. Press Master Vol on the MT-32 and hold it down while pressing Part 5. It will ask "Which Channel?". Press Part 1 button on the MT-32.
6. On the Yamaha, press and hold the "Transpose/Midi" button and play 'C' (the 3rd 'C' from the lowest)
Anyone? Thanks in advance!
