How do I combine these images in photoshop?

I need to combine these two images by first cutting them exactly in half wide. then feathering them so they flow =P I've done this with movie editors with movies, but this is my first time in photo-shop.

btw the dimentions of the pics are 1280 x 800 (both of em)
