how do i clear internet history?

I am computer stupid and i have windows vista and i am not really sure where to find anything with windows vista. I need to clear internet history so if some one could walk me through it i would greatly appreciate it. thanks
is there also other places where history is saved besides a web browser....like somewhere in my documents?
