How do I clean up my drawing/sketch?

Hello,

SO I am drawing something for some one for christmas. It is a collage with lots of different perspectives of a person.

I sketched them all first and all I ned to do now is add shading.
Because this for a present and not just going in my sketch book I want to get rid of all the smudges around the edges and stuff, to make it look nice and neat. But I don't know how to get all of the smudges out without screwing up my drawing.
Is there a technique or a way to do this properly?
