Sound on Blu-ray and DVD movies is very low, and the voices are even lower. It sounds as if it's trying to play 5.1 surround sound but only with 2 speakers and no center channel.
I have my PS3 hooked up through HDMI to one (Samsung LED LCD) television, and through component video and red and white stereo audio to another (Samsung LCD) TV. Game audio sounds great and even the previews on the same disc sound good. It's just the actual movie which I can't hear anything. I have the PS3 set to output "linear PCM 2 ch" for the hdmi cable, but of course that doesn't explain the same sound problems on the TV just using stereo cables.
